Creative Garden Design for Small Spaces

As a decades-long visual artist, Abby Shepard wove her love of gardening into one of the services her Design Studio (AbbyShepard.com) offers to a variety of clients. Her plant knowledge comes from a foundation of fondness for all things organic. Urban Garden Patch was launched due to the need for small urban spaces and decks to benefit from the privacy and calming affects that plants, nature and flowers offer us regardless of the size space we have to accommodate them.

Abby’s business grows through word-of-mouth referrals and by clients that stumble upon the small-space gardens she’s created in minimal-size yards, areas and decks. A select amount of projects are taken on an individual basis each year and are determined by size, location, need and desired end result - while considering plants that will work best within the designated environment. Clients are encouraged to participate in the process if they wish - and are given a care guideline for each special garden upon completion.

I love to help clients maximize their outdoor living spaces to enhance the natural beauty and visual appeal by creating magical, small-space gardens and outdoor havens. I combine a rich mix of seasonal color, annuals, perennials, landscape accents, and varied texture. I also create custom garden containers for small space decks and patios when there is a need for mobile and versatile garden patches. My ultimate goal is to ensure that you have a beautiful outdoor space to admire and enjoy for years to come.
